Angry

Why is it so easy?
It’s so easy to be angry over nothing,
to light a spark of jealosy
to be mad at your enemy.
How much of our life do we spend
cursing ones who could be friends?
Sarcastic comments and snide remarks
fill our minds and our hearts.
Why can’t I be calm?
Why can’t I just sing a psalm?
Praising instead of whining
and always try to find the silver lining.
But this anger builds inside of me,
it builds so high I cannot see.
